Ampeg not part of SLM Markerplace sale
I had thought the announcement below meant that Ampeg was being sold, but my inside source at Loud Technologies had this to say about it.
"I'm not sure where you heard that Ampeg was sold but it is not true. St. Louis Music Distribution and Knilling were sold
but Alvarez, Ampeg and Crate are still owned by Loud Technologies, Inc. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions."

LOUD Technologies Inc. Announces Sale of SLM Marketplace
WOODINVILLE, WA – LOUD Technologies Inc. (NasdaqCM: LTEC) (“LOUD”) today announced the sale of its SLM
Marketplace catalog and accessories distribution business and proprietary St. Louis Stage Gear brand, along with the
Austin guitar and Knilling Instruments brands (“SLM Marketplace”) to St. Louis-based U.S. Band & Orchestra Supplies Inc.
The sale includes the transfer of the exclusive worldwide sales license for the patented Perfection PegTM stringed
instrument tuning device. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Kent Armstrong talks pickups
In a conversation with Kent Armstrong he mentioned that Ampeg guitars and basses now come stock with black pickups like the
one seen below. However, he did mention that brown is still available as an option.
