At right, Cyril jams with his good friend and guitar luthier Bill Richardson who made the light green colored replacement scratchplate for Cyril's Dan Armstrong guitar. Notice the original black plastic Dan Armstrong guitar that Bill is holding - a rare bird, as it's one of only 8 ever made.

Cyril sometimes uses a unique picking style that often times seems similar to that of Mark Knolpfler. In this video he can be seen, not only playing his Dan Armstrong plexi guitar, but picking in the aforementioned style at 4:03 in the video. You can view it here.

Cyril Jordan would continue to lead the Groovies until 1981 when they finally decided to call it quits. As members went their ways Cyril formed a new band called Magic Christian. However, the popularity of the Flaming Groovies never waned. On the contrary it actually increased, and by 2013 he had reassembled the Flaming Groovies with the original bassist George Alexander and singer/guitarist Chris Wilson, but with new drummer Victor Peñalosa and played several Australian festival dates. A string of sold-out shows both in San Francisco and Japan soon followed. After several rounds of touring, the Groovies began to work on a new album in April of 2016 and they released a new song online in 2017 called "Crazy Macy."
