Volume and Tone control potentiometers are becoming more sought after resulting in replacements being in demand. Sometimes this is due to age, as the original parts from the
late 60's and early 70's have worn out or gone bad. Some, like Mr. Tom Burdett are seeking them for restoration purposes (seen in the 'Phoenix' section of this site).
At upper left and right, Futurlec.com has pots that are the closest you will find, in both resistance values and physical dimensions. On the left is a 250K pot with a 'D' shaped
shaft - the exact same shape that the Ampeg knobs take. The original volume pot is a 200K but this 250K is more than close enough.
At right is a 100K pot, also from Futurlec.com and is exactly the same value as the tone pot that shipped in the guitar models. Like the pot at left, this one also sports a 'D'
shaped shaft - exactly like the original tone control pot.
The bass guitars back then were a bit different in that both the volume and tone pots had the same value at 200K. So, for replacements, all one needs to do is order two of
the 250K pots seen above.
