One thing I always wanted for my Dan Armstrong · Ampeg guitar was a notched straight edge for neck adjustments. Unfortunately there have never been any on the market for the scale length of these guitars. But then one day, while browsing through the Dan Armstrong section of the Instagram site I came across some posts by Mr. James Roadman, a very gifted luthier and machinist in Texas who was custom making a notched straightedge for a customer. Below are some photos of him making it.

Above is the straightedge that Mr. Roadman made for my Dan Armstrong guitar. Being made of steel it's heavier than those made from aluminum which ironically makes it easier to use as it stays put quite easily once placed on the fingerboard. It's straight and true and will quickly reveal any irregularities in the neck. This is a very well made piece of equipment that I highly recommend. Technically this straightedge does not offically qualify as a replacement part but I wouldn't want to be without it. If you wish to order one you can contact Mr. James Roadman at his website here.
