Another Ampeg prototype, this one with a nice two-piece quilted top with an Emerald green to lime, almost yellow colored finish. Gold plated
humbuckers and hardware surrounds add nicely to the mix.
At left, The Dan Armstrong shaped headstock matches the Emerald green to lime of the body and features the Ampeg logo inlaid on it. The Dan
Armstrong styled truss rod cover has the Ampeg name on it. Gold Grover styled tuners top everything off. The 22 fret rosewood fingerboard
features medium size dot inlays. Looking at the back of the instrument, string ferrules reveal a string-thru design is at least a option.
Lastly, twin strap pegs in the Dan Armstrong fashion adorn the bottom of the body.

As seen at left, the purple lined case somewhat hides the lighter lime green tint and gold plated hardware, but the crushed purple padding on
the inside reveals a late 1990s early 2000s date of manfacturer.
In the enlarged view, below the pickup selector switch, a minature black switch can be seen. Likely for coil tapping or phasing.

A prototype Ampeg instrument that's photographed against a shipment of acoustic guitars. The model number of this instrument is unknown but is
clearly an AMG type design. Notice the Ampeg 'a' design on the humbucking pickup covers (in the enlarged view). The instrument features 22 frets
but unlike other prototype models on this page the headstock is noticeably void of any emblems &/or model number.
These are but a few of the various prototype instruments that Ampeg produced through the years, and likely many more were made that are still
undocumented. While they're all relatively different in terms of materials and features, they all share a common bond. They're all built
around the looks and the lines of the Dan Armstrong · Ampeg clear acrylic guitars and basses.
